Annaghkeen Cottages are three beautifully renovated self catering cottages situated on the shores of Lough Corrib. Each self catering unit has stunning views of this picturesque area which is steeped in history. Annaghkeen itself is an ancient celtic site and boasts a ruined 12th century castle. From the bedroom window of each self catering apartment it is possible to see an ancient cairn where gold artefacts dating back to the Bronze Age have been discovered.
Self catering on the shore of Lough Corrib offers a wonderful Irish experience. Lough Corrib is the largest lake in the state and it is one of Europe's most attractive with a wide variety of scenery and ameneties. There are many local fishermen who are happy to share their expertise and it is possible to catch salmon, brown trout and even a monster pike. Annaghkeen is an excellent choice for self catering and fishing. Despite being surrounded by such beautiful countryside, the self catering Annaghkeen Cottages are within easy reach of Galway City renowned for its charm, openness and character. It is the home to many talented musicians and there is a livley mix of pubs and bars where traditional music is played.

Accommodation:
The cottages have a large mezzanine bedroom. Cottages 1 and 2 have a double bed and a single bed and sleep 3. Cottage 3 has 3 single beds in the mezzanine bedroom and a seperate double bedroom. This cottage sleeps 5. There are large roof windows and plenty of storage space in the form of a wardrobe/chest of drawers and a bed locker.
Each kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, gas cooker, microwave, kettle and toaster and plenty of storage space for supplies. Cottages 1 and 2 have fully tiled shower rooms with WC and towels provide, Cottage 3 has a bathroom with bath shower and WC, again with towels provided. The cottages are centrally heated throughout with double glazed windows, a turf burning stove and walls over three feet thick, it is as cosy and warm in the winter as it is cool and comfortable in the summer. Gas and electricity are included in the price as is a starter pack for the solid fuel stove.
Directions:
From the town of Headford - Take the turning by Joyces Supermarket towards "Claran" and "Lough Corrib". Follow this road down for about three miles until you come to sharp turn to the right signposted "Greenfields". Do not follow this road but continue straight on past the old shop for another mile. After a crossroad you will see a new thatched cottage on the left, drive past this and past a row of bungalows. Annaghkeen Cottages are on the left. There is a sign outside.

Each cottage is centrally heated throughout and electricity and gas are included in the price. There is a solid fuel stove in each cottage and this comes with a free starter pack. Cost and availability.
The cottages are rented out throuhgout the year. Arrivals from 2pm and departures at 12 noon but flexibility is available for those travelling from a distance. Weekend and mini breaks are available There are three cottages here, the two smaller cottages are ideal for a self-catering vacation for couples or a couple with a small child and the larger cottage has a separate bedroom with a double bed and a large open plan bedroom with three single beds Our prices for the larger cottage go from €300 to €450 depending on the time
of year.
