Beach-lovers are spoilt for choice - Sandycove beach is just across the road, while Warren beach in the historic village of Rosscarbery is just 3km away. The adventurous can catch the Atlantic surf at the Long Strand, or enjoy some clean safe bathing at the blue-flagged Owenahincha beach during the summer months.
The popular tourist destinations of Clonakilty and Skibbereen are 20 minute's drive and here there are craft and clothes shops, cafes and a good selection of restaurants.
The historic village of Rosscarbery, with its colourful shops and traditional square, dates back to the 6th Century. The village offers no end of family activities - a pitch and putt course, a driving range and at the Marine Leisure Centre you can hire dinghies, pedal boats or canoes. Dolphin & whale watching trips can be booked at the nearby Glandore & Union Hall.
For the budding archaeologist, the area contains fascinating megalithic tombs and standing stones, including the renowned stone circle at Drumbeg.
Back at your comfortable holiday home, you will enjoy peace of mind with the secure onsite play area for children. Sandycove makes an ideal touring base for the Cork and Kerry area.

Accommodation:
This attractive three bedroom property is intelligently designed and equipped for all your needs. A high chair and travel cot are available, making it an ideal place to spend a family break. The pine kitchen table provides comfortable dining for 5. Bed linen & one set of towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. Sandycove is kept snug by gas central heating and a charming wood buring stove adds character and cheer. On sunny days, solar panels provide the hot water.
Sandycove has a master bedroom with an attractive balcony from where you can watch the sea. The ensuite bathroom has a pumped shower. There is a double bed in the second bedroom, while the third bedroom has a single. The family bathroom also has an efficient pumped shower over bath so you can enjoy home-from-home comforts.
Directions:
Just off the N71, take the exit for Owenahincha, as you drive West from Clonakilty to Rosscarbery.
What's included:
Gas central heating is charged on a meter for amount used. There are solar panels for hot water. There is a wood burner for which peat briquettes can be purchase at the petrol station on the N71 (1 km). Sorry, no pets. Bed linen, towels & duvets are supplied.

Rentals are generally Saturday - Saturday. Guests are asked to vacate the cottage by 10am and new guests are invited from 4pm. Low season departure and arrival times by arrangement. Weekend breaks or short 3-4 day bookings are available out of season by arrangement.
