Roosky Cottage,
Bundoran, Donegal and Sligo

Roosky Cottage is a charming lakeside stone house in a lovely rural setting, where Leitrim, Donegal and Fermanagh counties meet. Nestling amidst the surrounding lakeside, moorland and rolling hills, this traditional thatched dwelling is perfect for holidaymakers, honeymooners, golfers, anglers, painters and writers looking for tranquility and quiet. The house is ideally situated for you to do as little or as much as you wish. The nearby shores of Lough Melvin provide an opportunity to bring home the catch of the day. There are an abundance of walks among beautiful scenery: the nearby Fowey's Falls is a must-see or enjoy an evening stroll by the Atlantic where you can watch the sun go down. Both sites are only a 15 minute drive away.

There are numerous scenic drives you can enjoy such as the Atlantic coast road along breathtaking sea cliffs to Slieve League, or a drive to Yeats country, the monastic sites at Carrowmore, the restored Parkes Castle or the Isle of Innisfree. For the sporty there are plenty of activities such as hiking, surfing, kayaking or horseriding. You can rent a boat right at nearby Rossinver Fisheries to try your hand at trout and salmon fishing right on our Lough Melvin. Sea fishing is also available by chartering a boat from nearby Donegal Bay, Ballyshannon or Mullaghmore. For golfers, there is a choice of three splendid links courses at Bundoran, Donegal or Rosses Point.

For those days when you prefer to relax with a good book in the garden, look out for the wild hares and pheasants among the local fauna and gather wild garlic, blackberries and sorrel to add to the evening's supper.

The cottage is an ideal base from which to explore the neighbouring towns and villages in Donegal, Leitrim, Fermanagh and Sligo. Roosky Cottage is just 15 minutes by car to the Atlantic seaside town of Bundoran, and 30 minutes from the bustling towns of Donegal and Sligo. The house is ½ an hour from Sligo Airport for regional services and 2 hours from Belfast, 3 hours from Dublin, and 4 hours from Shannon for major hubs for international air connections and ferry terminals.
