The Old Boley Country House is approached via a long tree-lined avenue and retains all of the charm of a bygone era. Great care has been taken to protect the integrity of the building and its environs during all renovation projects and award-winning pedigree limousin cattle have been bred for many years. The Bellfry at Old Boley is set in a secluded corner of the courtyard. It evokes a feeling of old fashioned calm and harmony and has been thoughtfully designed and luxuriously finished. Originally built as a Granary it has been successfully converted into a unique self catering unit utilising many salvaged materials including reclaimed timbers from the Wexford Quay front. Beautifully situated in the Wexford countryside, all rooms offer stunning views over the rolling hills from their own private terrace. The accommodation comprises of a large French Chic style master bedroom with traditional pitch pine beams. It is equipped with flat screen T.V., Trouser Press/Iron and safety deposit box.
The second smaller bedroom, retains the same charm and quirkiness of the master bedroom. Both rooms have a private balcony overlooking the courtyard.
Downstairs the design is a large open plan space with double doors leading onto a private patio, BBQ and garden – perfect for lazy afternoons. From here you may even spot a pheasant or two.
The Bellfry makes a perfect base for exploring the area: the Whitford House Hotel with its spa and salon facilities is on your doorstep and a complimentary day pass is provided for your stay. For days out, the Irish National Heritage Park transports you through an intriguing journey of 9000 years of Celtic history. Dunbrody's Famine Ship, also within easy reach, is a fascinating tellling of the humbling story of that period. One of the area's most popular landmarks is the Hook Lighthouse, lying out on an unspoilt penninsula where swimming, scuba-diving, canoing or fishing is on offer. Wexford is an unspoilt corner of Ireland with a character and atmosphere all its own.
