Alice’s Loft and Cottages are 3 new purpose built 4 star (Failte Ireland) Approved Self Catering holiday accommodation set in the heart of County Monaghan.
The cottages are built in a C-Shape surrounding a gravelled courtyard giving you a quiet, safe environment in which to enjoy your holiday. Each sleeps 8-9 making it a fantastic venue for a large group. For your peace of mind, secure off road parking is provided beside all accommodation. There is a children's play area with swings and slides.
While the cottages have oil-fired central heating, a warm welcome is provided with a traditional wood-burning stove (fuel provided). The patio areas are complete with furniture and bbq.
On arrival, you are greeted with a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and fresh wheaten bread meaning you can relax and begin your holiday the moment you step through the door. If you wish to order groceries in advance this can be done through the Tesco website who will deliver to your door.
The local pub, only two miles away, offers a courtesy taxi service.
If you wish to go for a quiet country walk, there are beautiful walks on the rural roads in Doohamlet or ramble on our 11 adjacent acres. The area is surrounded by drumlins, which give the countryside a distinctive, undulating look.
Just 6 miles drive is Castleblaney, a lively town with a strong musical tradition and many pubs providing live entertainment.
The area is famous for trout and coarse fishing. Lough Muckno in Castleblaney has some of the best pike fishing in Ireland. It also has an activity centre with 9-hole golf course, watersports and many forest walks and picnic areas around it shores.
Also nearby is the smaller town of Ballybay, situated beside Lough Major also with great fishing.

Our kitchen has all the necessary modern facilities including dishwasher, microwave, coffee percolator, sandwich toaster, and tumble dryer.
Our sitting room includes TV, DVD player and Playstation.
Alice's Loft & Cottages Self Catering Holiday Accommodation are 3 properties, with 3 bedrooms and sleeping 8/9. The bedrooms in each cottage follow the same layout:
All of the downstairs is wheelchair accessible. There is a double bedroom with ensuite downstairs making it completely wheelchair accessible and the other two bedrooms are family rooms - with 1 single and 1 double bed in each. All bedrooms have radio-clock-alarms and hair dryers.
The upstairs bedrooms share a large bathroom on that floor containing a separate shower and bath.
We provide, on request, a travel cot, high-chair and reliable baby sitting.
The loft sleeps 8/9 comfortably.
We recycle all packaging and provide compost bins for each house.
Check-in time 2pm.
Check-out time 10am.

Directions:
Alice's Loft & Cottages is 4 km from Castleblayney on the Castleblayney - Ballybay Road. Follow Ballybay road (R183) for 3 km and take a right at finger post.
Alice's Loft & Cottages is 1km on the left hand side.
Arriving from Belfast airport follow M1 to Armagh (A3, Junction 11) and take the A29/R181 to Castleblayney.
If using the new Castleblayney bypass, take the Ballybay Road (R183) turnoff.
Arriving in Dublin take M1 to Dundalk and follow route to Castleblayney (N53).
We are 100km from each airport.
