Hughie's cottage is located around 2 miles from Ireland's oldest still used Abbey. The quiet and spiritual Abbey and grounds are kept in exceptional condition and it won't take a minute before you forget the hustle and bustle at home.
For golfers, you will appreciate the four courses in close proximity to Hughie's. The same is true for fishing with plenty of lakes and rivers providing world-class catches, all within 30 minutes' drive. There are 3 pubs within 2.5 miles where you can easily mix and mingle with the locals and discuss the news of the day.
Further afield, the picturesque Westport, nestling under Croagh Patrick, is only 10 miles away. Here there is a good selection of traditional entertainment, restaurants, pubs and nightlife.
Sandy beaches, the best in the West, can be reached in about 30-40 minutes by car. The cottage provides home comfort with a wood-burning stove and large table for sociable dining.

Accommodation:
Hughie's Cottage features a large sitting room with high ceilings and an open fire place with wood burning stove. All three bedrooms come off the sitting room which flows gently via two big arches into the kitchen-dining room. Here you will find a big sturdy dining table that will easily seat 6 people and a charming cast iron stove. It is well-equipped with all the appliances that make entertaining easy. The utility room has a washing machine and dryer and a separate toilet.

Hughie's Cottage is located about 1 mile off the main Castlebar to Galway road. Detail directions will be e-mailed in advance.
What's included:
Hughie's Cottage is equipped with an oil fired central heating system. This can be operated by a timer.
Hot water can also be generated via an electric immersion heater. Peat, coal and logs can be provided if requested. Pets are allowed in the cottage. Please discuss details with us in advance. All bedlinen is included in the letting rate, and includes, sheets, duvets and towels for bathing.
Please bring your own towels for going to the beach.

Rentals are generally Saturday - Saturday. Guest are asked to vacate the cottage by 10am and new guests are invited from 4pm. Weekend breaks or short 3-4 day bookings are subject to availability at certain times of the year. Please contact us for further details. Discounts are available outside the peak season, if staying longer than one week.
