Hughie' cottage is located ca. 2 miles from Ireland's oldest still used Abbey. The Abbey and the grounds are kept in exceptional condition and it won't take a minutes before you forget the hustle and buzzle at home. It is a quiet and spiritual place.
If you are more interested in fishing or golfing you will appreciate Hughie's Cottage as the ideal place. There are at least four 18 hole Golf courses, which can be accessed within less than 30 minutes. The same is true for fishing. With plenty of lakes and rivers around Mayo is an angler's paradise.
Should you be more interested in relaxing. There are 3 pubs within 2.5 miles where you can easily mix and mingle with the locals, discussing anything from politics to weather.
The picturesque Westport is only 10 miles away where you will find entertainment, restaurants, pubs and nightlife.
Sandy beaches, the best in the West, can be reached in about 30-40 minutes by car.

Accommodation:
Hughie's Cottage features a ca. 35 sqm sitting room with high ceilings and an open fire place. All three bed rooms are coming of the sitting room. The sitting room flows gently via two big arches into the kitchen cum dining room. Here you will find a big sturdy dining table that will easily seat 6 people. The kitchen is equipped with all appliances that will make it easy and fun to cook. To enhance the atmosphere there is also a cast iron stove. The utility room has a washing machine and dryer and a seperate toilet.

Hughie's Cottage is located about 1 mile of the main Castlebar to Galway road. Detail directions will be e-mailed in advance.
What's included:
Hughie's Cottage is equipped with an oil fired central heating system. This can be operated by a timer.
Hot water can also be generated via an electric immersion heater. Peat, coal and logs can be provided if requested. No Pets All bedlinen is included in the letting rate, and includes, sheets, duvets and towels for bathing.
Please bring your own towels for going to the beach.
Cost and availability.
Rentals are generally Saturday - Saturday. Guest are asked to vacate the cottage by 10am and new guests are invited from 4pm. Weekend breaks or short 3-4 day bookings are subject to availability at certain times of the year. Please contact us for further details. Discounts are available outside the peak season, if staying longer than one week.
