Glebe Cottage,
Enniskillen, Northern Ireland

The cottage is situated on the shores of Lough Erne and it is the year-round fishing that makes the area an angler's paradise. Salmon, trout and 12 species of coarse fish make it an ideal spot for a catch in all seasons. Fish in the many rivers - Ballinmallard and Cladagh among them, as well as the beautiful Lough Erne, 50 miles long. The dazzling waterway provides the opportunity for many watersports, or if more tranquil activities are your thing, take a boat cruise. You can visit Devenish Island where the monastic ruins dating back to the 6th Century and the mediaveal round tower make it an atmospheric trip. Boats leave from Trory Point, 1.5 miles outside Enniskillen. Enniskillen itself is the largest town in the area, a charming market town full of shops, cafes and a good choice of restaurants. The setting by the River Erne means you don't have to walk far to escape the high street bustle. While relaxing at the water's edge you can visit the Enniskillen Castle, a majestic sight, with its medieaval keep rising out of the water. Further afield, Marble Arch Caves are an amazing netherworld of twisting passages, elevated chambers, rivers and waterfalls. Electric boats transport you through the awe-inspiring corridors. Above ground, there are also lots of lovely scenic drives and forest walks around the Lough including Ely Lodge Forest and Blackslee Trail, the latter leading to a wonderful waterfall. All within a 20 minute drive of your cottage.
